OLSRp: predicting control information to achieve scalability in OLSR ad hoc networks

Scalability is a key design challenge that routing protocols for ad hoc networks must properly address to maintain the network performance when the number of nodes increases. We focus on this issue by reducing the amount of control information messages that a link state proactive routing algorithm introduces to the network. Our proposal is based on the observation that a high percentage of those messages is always the same.

Recovery fairness and congestion control mechanisms in RPR networks

The paper describes fundamental features of RPR (Resilient Packet Ring - IEEE 802.17 standard). It focuses on proposals how
to improve fairness mechanism and to increase network efficiency in state of congestion. Recovery mechanisms are also
discussed, with presented analytical and simulation results. The goals of paper are threefold. At first, we show RPR main
features and describe its current status. Secondly, we present main recovery and resilience features of RPR and propose
solutions for improving both fairness and congestion control.

Model predictive control of drinking water networks: a hierarchical and decentralized approach

In this paper, a decentralized model predictive control (DMPC) strategy for drinking water networks (DWN)is proposed. The DWN is partitioned in a set of subnetworks using a partitioning algorithm that makes use of the topology of the network, the information about the actuator usage and heuristics. A suboptimal DMPC strategy was derived that allows the hierarchical solution of the set of MPC controllers used to control each partition.

Network Calculus viewed as a Min-plus System Theory

We analyze some queueing problems arising in guaranteed service and controlled load networks using min-plus algebra. We find an explicit representation for the sub-additive closure of the minimum of two operators, and we introduce a new, useful family of idempotent, time-varying, and min-plus linear operators.

Joint throughput and delay optimization in multihop networks

As the use of the Internet evolves, more and more applications require quality of service constraints such as end-to-end delay requirements, in addition to throughput guarantees. We have developed a framework for rate and delay assignment in order to analyze networks of users with both rate and end-to-end delay parameters. Within this theoretical framework, we have proposed three algorithms, evaluated their performance, and analyzed their convergence rates based on both theoretical and numerical results.
